As I’m in an Avatar: The Last Airbender mood anyway today, this video made me smile:

I’m not into Twilight at all, but this video ‘game’ is pretty cool. It’s created by the same guy who did the 8-bit Dr Horrible from a few months back (Doc Octoroc) together with the Fine Brothers and The Station. It uses YouTube annotations to allow the viewer to choose between choices, leading to different videos and a different storyline. Choose Your Own Adventure YouTube style!

I’m running a few days behind with this, but WOW. This is what a Mortal Kombat movie should be like:

It first wasn’t clear what this clip was (promotion for the upcoming game? a real trailer?), but turns out it’s a test video shot by Kevin Tancharoen to promote his vision of an MK movie to Warner Brothers. I looove the look of this! Hopefully they’ll pick it up, cause I think it could be awesome.

Episode 178: “I want your love and I want your revenge”

Love this! I should so watch Newsies again. Young Christian Bale, sigh!

Episode 177: “I really liked Lost, but I guess I still have a few questions about it”

If you haven’t seen the last episode of Lost yet:

beware

SPOILERS!

Last weekend I finally got around to watching this season of Lost, having to catch up on 15 episodes before being able to watch the finale! I know not everyone was happy with how it concluded, but I really enjoyed it and thought it was a fitting ending. Since the 3rd season, I was more invested in the characters than in the mysteries anyway, and it’s each character’s story that they ended up completing. I have to admit there were quite some questions left unanswered, but none that really bugged me. And unlike with BSG it all left me with a much more satisfied feeling.

As I said though, not every question was answered and I wasn’t the only one to realize that:

So what did you think of the end of Lost?

Episode 176: “England in Roo-ins”

Cool ad from Nike for the world cup:

Episode 175: “And the sun touched neither men’s lives or their hearts…”

Interesting little movie, based on E.M. Forster’s story The Machine Stops. Now I find I need to read the original; apparently Forster predicted TVs, videoconferencing and virtual communities in this story (written in 1909!):

Episode 174: “I shove her into the car, run into my house and I grab my lightsaber”

I’ve got a bit of a geek crush on Nathan Fillion and to see him geek out in real life about lightsabers is just brilliant (that part’s in the 2nd video):

Episode 173: “Tonight: Topmodels singing on ice!”

I haven’t been blogging that much this week, cause I’m in the Netherlands again (and actually getting some work done!). Today it’s Queen’s day though, so I’m off to celebrate in the sun. I thought it would be appropriate though to feature this new Heineken ad as my video for today:

I don’t remember if I posted them here, but last year Heineken did two other great ads (with I think the same actors): walk-in fridge and its followup.

Episode 172: “We have arrived in Sheffield”

I still haven’t found the time to write up everything regarding the Doctor Who trip last week, so except more things Doctor Who related this week! This video was recorded during the day (by the BBC); it shows the Daleks at the station and some clips from the game:
