I kind of figured out that I haven’t really been that productive lately. It’s not as if I’ve been doing nothing at all; quite the contrary: I’ve read a lot of papers, rewritten quite a bit of my literature research paper, discovered the joys of del.icio.us, Vienna and Growl, started my own blog, went to my first Girl Geek Dinner and celebrated my birthday. But I haven’t been able to stick to my deadlines, which I really have to start doing.
So because today is March the 1st, I’ve decided to make a list of my New Month’s Resolutions:
1. Deadlines are holy. I must stick to them no matter what.
2. I should write a new post for my blog every day.
3. No more ice cream!
Well, let’s see how long I can keep this up. The first is a must, but the second and third? We’ll see how they go ;-).

It’s a proverbial Seckington trait Mel always to have a list with deadlines. So blame it on your father. Even at the ripe old age of 56 I still do lists and I still set myself deadlines. For the record my current list, made when I arrived in Uzbek for this stint in January and expiring on 22nd March when I go home is:
1. Drink less beer.
2. Use spreadsheets more.
3. Don’t print out everything I type into my computer. Become more digital
4. Don’t take life do seriously. (I always add these vague abstract thingies to my list).
5. Don’t stuff up. You are only as good as your last job/assignment/project or what ever. (I always add this. Don’t know why. May be just to reassure myself).
How am I doing on my resolutions? Will let you know when I see you in a couple of weeks time in Holland.
