Interesting links for April 16th through April 22nd:

• 25 Season 7 Cast Photo - First photo of the main cast of season 7 of 24. I am looking forward to this season; they seem to be taking a somewhat different direction. Some minor spoilers; nothing that hasn’t been shown in the earlier released trailer.
• Creating ‘The (Former) General’ - Adrian Hon, one of the creators behind We Tell Stories, elaborates on the creation of the latest (and last) WTS story. Beware: don’t read this if you haven’t read the story yet (which you all should do, cause it’s great).
• Ctrl+Alt+Del Choose Our Adventure Story - For the past 3 weeks the CAD comic did a Choose Your Own Adventure style comic series, with people having to vote at certain stages. Great idea, only it ended way too soon. Btw, check out the story tree at the end.
• Top 10 Amazing People Who Cheated Death - The human body can take a lot of hardship. Some of these stories are just plain weird and I also question the authenticity of some of them.
• The Empire Blog: How You Know You’ve Become A Sci-Fi TV Geek - Cute little quiz to see how much of a TV sci-fi geek you are (although I have to say they only mention the mainstream “sci-fi” shows). Without taking point 7 into account (cause that one just doesn’t make sense), I scored 63 points. How geeky are you?
• Technology moves fast - Funny little post post from Matt Cutts about a book from 1996 he was reading where the character describes a cutting edge system.

• Today In Catalogs: Searching For The Worst Outfit In ‘International Male’ - How could these clothes even be designed? And they’re all from a 2008 brochure! Guys, if you want tips on what NOT to wear, this is it.
• Lace Your Shoes - Wired How-To Wiki - I never stopped to realize there where different methods in how to lace your shoes. Tie your shoes, yes, but different ways to lace it?
• Steampunk Star Wars - I slowly getting into this whole steampunk style and these Star Wars figures are just gorgeous. I like the explanations of the artist’s design choices; you can really see he put time and effort in to it all.

• Battlestar Galactica Girls Go Barbarella - The three main actresses in BSG (Starbuck, Number 6, Boomer/Athena) posing in a big-hair Barbarella style photo. I find it a bit of weird advertising. BSG is exactly not that type of show.
• Celebrity D&D Characters - What if certain celebrities were D&D characters? What kind of stats would they have? A couple of these are pretty funny.
• Documentary Fetishism in Battlestar Galactica - Cool graph of the number of people within the Battlestar Fleet from the past 3 seasons. (No spoilers for season 4)

• Asylum - Jeremy Harris Photography - Creepy photos from an abandoned asylum. Just looks plain spooky.
• And Great Lyrics Quiz Rock Roll The by Matthew Baldwin - Can you guess which songs these are? They’ve taken the complete lyrics, sorted the words alphabetically and taken all the doubles out. Pretty difficult!
• Interview: Jane Espenson Talks About Writing for Firefly and Battlestar - Remember the Buffy Musical? The parking ticket song? That woman was Jane Espenson, one of the writer on Buffy, Firefly and now BSG. Short little interview about the differences between Firefly and BSG.
• Pasta Shape Identification Quiz - Do you know your pasta shapes? I thought I did, but I only got half of them right (12 out of 24).

• A la Cart: The Secret Lives of Grocey Shoppers - A book by Hilary Carlip about discarded shopping lists. Based on 26 lists she’s found, she creates and imagines the people who would have written them and turns herself into those characters. Take a look at the flash intro; it explains it all.
• We Tell Stories - Six authors, six stories, six weeks. For the next six weeks, stories will come out, each with a different unique method of presentation. This week’s The 21 Steps, for instance, uses Google Maps.
• By Ken Levine: If a major studio gave notes on JUNO - What if the screenplay of Juno had landed in the hands of a major Hollywood studio? Can you imagine what the demands of the studio would have been? How the story would have been rewritten?
• Interview: David Hewlett - Great interview with Hewlett who plays Dr. Rodney McKay in Stargate: Atlantis. It’s cool to see how much of a geek he is himself.

• The neurobiology of the Mona Lisa’s smile - Pretty neat explanation of why Mona Lisa’s smile looks so mysterious.
• mydeco - Cool design-your-room web app. Not the first of it’s kind, but better than the ones I’ve seen so far.

• Dating Sites For Geeks - For all you single geeks out there: The Great Geek Manual got a list of all the geek dating sites out there. Find your own geeky girl/boyfriend.
• Spell with flickr - Cool little site that let’s you create words with images from flickr.

• David Jon Kassan - Brooklyn Artist - Wow,these paintings look realistic.
• FreakAngels - New webcomic (only 1 episode so far) with an interesting premise: 12 children born on the same day at the same time with (I’m guessing here) special powers in a steampunk setting.
• Seashell House Is Unbelievably Awesome - Cool design for a house, but I couldn’t picture myself living in such a thing.
