I came across this cute etsy store 4/Four Cards that does snarky printed cards. I’m featuring the four here that I like the most, but they’ve got a ton more on their actual store. I especially like the last one… mainly cause I know some people who could definitely use this card!

I love that during some of the closeups of Olympic athletes you can see their awesome nail art! I’d love to be creative and do pretty stuff on my nails, but I really do not have the talent (or stable hands) for that.

One of my favourite nail blogs has shared a couple of tutorials to how you can create those flags yourself, so I’m quite tempted to try it out (even though I’m 90% sure I’ll fail completely).

The Australian Flag:

Olympic Rings

The British Flag for all my UK readers:

The American Flag for all my US readers:

The German Flag for my German readers and readers from countries with a 3 banded flag, like the Dutch (I’m pretty sure you could just apply the same tutorial there):

I still think it’d be cool to have a map of London on my wall, just not your normal standard map. I love the look of this cut-out one of London:

If you like it, there’s still one more left on Fab for £935 (eek!). If that’s a bit too pricey, they also have the London map on canvas (£95) or as a small print (£19.50).

These redesigns from deviantart artist denism79 are just awesome! He’s reimagined our favourite superheroes and villains in different themes: fantasy, steampunk and rockabilly.

Fantasy Avengers

Steampunk Spider-Man

Rockabilly Batman

Olympics: Flag Necklaces

August 4th, 2012

I’m feeling quite patriotic with all the Olympic stuff going on, so I thought it’d be cool to see what type of jewellery might be out there to show off your country. I came across etsy store Austin Creations that among other things makes bronze pendants with the flag of the country of your choice!

Here are the ones for Australia and the Netherlands:

They have a ton of other countries on their etsy page, but I’m pretty sure if yours isn’t among it, you can just email and ask if they can do yours. Each necklace only costs $14.50 (about £9.30 and €11.70) and delivery is $3.50.

Awesome time lapse of building the main Olympic Stadium in Lego:

The guy who did this (Warren Elsmore) actually created the entire park in Lego and it’s currently on display by Visit Denmark at the St Katherine Docks. Here are some photos from his Flickr set:

Somehow with all the Olympic stuff happening I managed to completely miss this new Doctor Who trailer:

Can’t wait till this airs! Series 7 will have 6 episodes airing in 2012 (including the Christmas special), and 8 episodes in 2013. Amy and Rory will appear in the first 5 episodes, while a new companion will be introduced in the Christmas special.

Are you guys all enjoying the Olympics? I’m super psyched now, cause I managed to get my hands on some last minute gymnastics tickets! Next Tuesday I’ll be seeing the finals for men’s parallel bars, men’s horizontal bars, women’s bean and women’s floor. I’m so looking forward to it!

I thought you all would be interested in hearing about a cool competition Knomo is running: you have the chance to win £200/€250/$250 worth of products from their website, as well as a UNIQUE knomo Olympia tote bag (the bag on the left) signed by Olympic hopeful Marvin Sordell, one of the Team GB footballers. All you need to do is tweet @knomo a photo of “Olympic London” with the hashtag #MyOlympicLondon (or upload the photo on their Facebook competition page). The best/most creative/inspiring photo will win!

You can find the exact terms and conditions on their Facebook page.
