Time for another pretty dress! I love this one from Modcloth called Modern Fairytale; the neckline is interesting and the layered skirt looks awesome. Plus: pockets!

Modern-Fairytale-dress

It’s available from Modcloth for $154.99.

I’ve been a huge fan of Knomo’s bags for quite a couple of years now and I always am curious to see what they do next. I own a couple of their bags and they’re the perfect blend of style and practicality, protecting your gadgets, while still remaining pretty.

Two weeks ago I got invited along to Knomo’s relaunch and press preview event, and obviously I wanted to see their new designs. Well, turns out they’ve re-branded and redone their website, and got a new logo: the Fox, an intelligent and sleek creature, well-travelled and stylish. I think it suits the brand perfectly; it’s adorable, pretty and smart, just like their bags!

Knomo relaunch

At the event they also gave a sneak peak of some of the upcoming Autumn/Winter designs and I can’t wait to share some of them with you, when they properly launch. For now, you’ll have to do with two new lines: the Fitzrovia and the Marylebone collections. Both collections feature the new Fox logo and the relaunched Knomo ID, a new way to register your bag.

Here are a couple of my favourites of the new lines:

Wigmore – £199

A lightweight slim briefcase with quilted protected compartment to hold a laptop up to 14″. Available in three colours: black, marine and black cherry.

Knomo Wigmore

Oldbury – £179

A handbag with detachable shoulder strap with a lightly quilted compartment to protect an iPad/Tablet up to 10″. Available in three colours: black and marine.

Knomo Oldbury

Little Portland – £99

A slim over-the-shoulder bag with a quilted protected compartment to hold a laptop up to 13″. Available in three colours: black, marine and black cherry.

Knomo Little Portland

Gorgeous, right? Each of the designs above have one padded compartment for a laptop/tablet, and enough little compartments and sections for all of your other gadgets and gizmos. I can’t wait to get my hands on these and try them out properly!

Btw, if you’re around London next week, Knomo are holding a sample sale on the 28th, 29th and 30th August! It’s running from 9am till 7pm at The Music Rooms, 26 South Molton Lane. For full details, check out the Knomo blog.

The last few days have been blissfully relaxing: I’m currently on holiday in Croatia and most of my time has been spent on sitting next to the pool to swim, sunbathe and read. I wish I had a proper geeky swimsuit though!

For ages I’ve been eyeing Black Milk’s geeky swimsuit designs, but nothing really popped out as a must-have to me. They’ve had some cool Lord of The Rings and Star Wars designs in the past, but I’m not a massive enough fan of either of those to spend $100 on a swimsuit. They’ve now just launched a Mass Effect line… and I really want their N7 swimsuit!

Mass Effect Swimsuit N7

Next to that N7 swimsuit, I’m also loving this cool Tali swimsuit:

The above two designs also come as leggings and dresses, and there are also three other Mass Effect (comic) designs. I wish they had added some of the other artwork; I would have loved to have seen a swimsuit with Garrus or the Normandy on it!

I love zombies. And I love superheroes. So combining the two: yay!

I came across this book series last week while browsing at the Forbidden Planet and Nathan Fillion’s quote on the second cover jumped out at me. I still love being able to browse stores and come across books you normally might not come across. It’s another reason why I just don’t want to switch over to something like a Kindle.

Ex-Heroes

Here’s the description from Amazon:

The Mighty Dragon. Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap.

They were superheroes fighting to make Los Angeles a better place. Then the plague of living death spread. Billions died, civilization fell, and the City of Angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland. But the ex-humans aren’t the only threats the heroes face. Another group is amassing power . . . led by an enemy with the most terrifying ability of all.

I already started reading it and so far it’s great! The book jumps between Now and Then chapters. “Now” is two years after the zombie apocalypse and a group of survivors have converted the old Hollywood studios into their home. “Then” is first-person perspectives from the superheroes before and during the first outbreaks. I can’t wait to see this goes on; I’m so tempted to get its sequels (Ex-Patriots and Ex-Communication) to bring with me on holiday!

Ex-Heroes is available from Amazon.co.uk for £3.85.

For the past few weeks I’ve been on a mission to expand my geek jewellery collection. I realized subtle silver earrings are the easiest way to go, so I ordered these adorable Space Invader earrings last week. They’re adorable!

Space Invader Earrings

I was scared they might be too big, but they’re exactly the right size. Geeky yet elegant!

They’re available in gold plated and silver plated from etsy store DoubleBJewelry for £8.35/$12.50.

Hot Fuzz will always be a movie with a lot of memories for me: it’s the first movie I saw in the cinema after moving to London with a bunch of strangers I now consider close friends. Fast forward 6.5 years later (seriously? It’s been that long already?) and we finally get to see The World’s End, the final chapter of the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy.

Thanks to Focus Features, I’m holding a special giveaway where you can win a The World’s End goodie bag with a T-Shirt, Pint Glass and Poster! Scroll down to see how to enter.

The-World's-End

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment behind with your most epic pub story. You’ll also get a second entry if you’re following me on Twitter and tweet about this giveaway with the hashtag #missgeeky. The competition is open to everyone and it will end on August 17th.

A few weeks back I gave a 5 minute lightning talk at 300 Seconds about Being A Social Introvert. I already wrote this up as a blog post (which you can read here), but the video of that presentation is now up on YouTube as well:

I always find it feels a bit weird watching yourself back and hearing your own voice. It’s good though to see how the presentation went; from my point of view it felt as if I was speeding way more through it and that doesn’t come across (I think) in the video.

Since that presentation, I’ve given it a second time at HACKED. Both times I had people come up to me afterwards to discuss introverts and telling me about their own experiences. It’s so cool to realize that your presentation made people think about themselves in a way they didn’t necessarily before!

So do you consider yourself a Social Caterpillar?

It’s August! I don’t think Ive ever had this long a drought on my blog: only 2 posts in 2 months. It’s finally settled down a bit though in terms of busy-ness, so hopefully I’ll find some time again to write.

I’m so addicted to Threadless tees and they keep coming up with themes that I want. So far this year we’ve had Disney Villains, Iron Man, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Muppets, Toy Story… damn them, there are just too many cool designs. And now: TMNT tees. Want!

There are 15 tees in total, but I’ve featured my favourite ones below:
