It’s a slow, lazy Sunday for me. It’s a perfect day for catching up on TV, watching some of my favourite shows. What better way to celebrate such a day with an awesome TV show giveaway?

Babylon 5 remains my all time favourite scifi series (although Firefly comes a close second) and I’m happy to giveaway two DVDs to one lucky reader! The first one is The Gathering which is pretty much the pilot of the entire TV show, while the second one is The Lost Tales, the last/latest addition to the series (yeah, I’m still holding a tiny sliver of hope that JMS might one day continue).

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment behind with your favourite scifi story. You’ll also get a second entry if you’re following me on Twitter and tweet about this giveaway with the hashtag #missgeeky. The competition is open to everyone, but bear in mind that the DVDs are Region 2 and may not work outside of Europe. The giveaway will end on January 13th after which I’ll randomly draw a winner.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all are enjoying a great Christmas holiday. I had plans to do a couple of posts each day here, but failed completely. Instead I’ve pretty much had a full week away from my laptop, staying blissfully offline. I had an awesome Christmas: hanging out with family, eating amazing food and getting great presents.

It is still officially Christmas though, so I still have time to do some Christmas giveaways. Yay! One of my favourite books this year was Redshirts by John Scalzi; it’s Must Read for every Star Trek fan. I’m so excited to give a copy away to one lucky reader!

Only 8 more days till Christmas! I can’t wait to see my family open up their presents, hopefully they’ll enjoy the things I’ve got for them. And of course I’m looking forward to see what I’m getting too. I didn’t want to leave you guys out though, so I’ll be hosting a couple of giveaways on MissGeeky!

I am so looking forward to Les Misérables, so I’m super happy that I get to giveaway this cool gift pack! The movie looks great: awesome songs, great actors (Hugh Jackman *swoon*) and gorgeous visuals. I get goosebumps every time I hear Anne Hathaway singing in the teaser trailer:

I can’t wait to see this! It’s being released in theatres in the US on December 25th and in the UK on January 11th (if you’re based in another country check out the IMDb release dates page).

I feel old: it’s been more than 8 years now since the Friends final. It’s still one of my favourite TV shows though, and I’ve been wanting to get a boxset of the entire series for a while now. Well, now it might be finally time to invest in one: it’s being completely released on Blu-ray in one big awesome boxset!

Thanks to Warner Bros I’ve been given a Limited Edition Friends prize pack to giveaway to one lucky reader! The winner will get:

  • Two oversized cappuccino mugs
  • A picture frame just like the one on Monica’s door

How awesome is that? All you have to do is leave a comment behind with your favourite Friends moment. It’s only open to US residents and entries must be in before November 27th 17:00. The winner will be contacted via email on the 28th.

I’ve just started reading an Advanced Reader Copy of Prodigy, the sequel to Marie Lu’s Legend. Lu has created an interesting dystopian world and I can’t wait to find out what happens to the characters. And to celebrate the upcoming release of Prodigy I’ve been given two copies of Legend to give away to two lucky readers!

To enter the contest, all you need to do is email contest@missgeeky.com with your name and address and put “Legend Giveaway” in the title. The giveaway will run until November 19th at 17:00 and is only open to residents of the United States.

Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

June and Day have no reason to cross paths – until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

About the Film

The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company LAIKA, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated Coraline. ParaNorman is, following Coraline, the company’s second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D.

In ParaNorman, a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

One thing I love about being a blogger is that I’ll occasionally be emailed something I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Like today.
