I’m so in love with these jewellery designs from Chao & Eero right now. I first came across 3 designs in a Finnish online store, but after googling them I found more! The first is a Speech Bubble necklace (€72):

Then a Comma necklace (€75):

And a set of Quotation earrings (€82):

On Chao & Eero’s website though I found more beauties (but no idea about the price of these):

Smily-Ring

Exclamation-Ring

Smiling-Eyes-Ring

Question-Mark-Ring

Pendant-Necklace

CI-Earring

Leaflower-Ring

Pretty! If I’d have to choose one though, it would have to be the Comma necklace. Or the Speech bubble. Or the Question Mark ring. Ahhh, I can’t choose, they’re all so gorgeous.

Check out the Chao & Eero website for more jewellery designs.

I came across Chocomize yesterday and I so so wish that they shipped to the UK! The idea is simple, but brilliant: you can make your own customized chocolate bars.

Just pick a type of chocolate (dark, milk or white) and then add up to 5 ingredients… whatever you want. They’ve got a great range of nuts and fruits (the usual suspects), but also some more unique, eccentric ingredients, like black peppercorns, rose petals and even beef jerky.

Besides letting you create your own chocolate bars, Chocomize also has a couple of premade popular bars, just in case you have trouble deciding what to put on your own bar. Some of these look great with bars like the Smores bar (mini marshmellows and Graham teddies) or the Tropical Island bar (banana chips, coconut flakes and cantaloupe melon dices). Or my favourite: the ‘I Feel Lucky’ bar, where you get a mystery combination of ingredients!

As I said, I so wish they’d ship to the UK (or is there a UK equivalent?) cause I’d love to make my own personalized bar! I’d probably end up mixing white chocolate with macadamia nuts, and adding some special stuff like lavender to liven it all up. What would your personalized bar be?

Lovely geeky tee from Glennz Tees:

All sizes are $19.95, except for 2XL and 3XL which are $21.95.

Remember my failed movie challenge from last year? Cristiano and I realized we hadn’t seen tons of the movies in the IMDb Top 250, so we tried to watch one movie from that list which we hadn’t seen yet. We failed miserably. It was partly to blame to too busy schedules, but also a bit because of the logistics of agreeing and figuring out which movies to see. The ‘priorities’ on both of our lists were movies that the other had seen already. Since then I’ve wanted a simple app that would allow us both to check off the movies we’ve seen and allow us to compare the two lists. Cue: iCheckMovies!

iCheckMovies-3

The idea of this website (http://icheckmovies.com) is simple: just check off the movies you’ve seen per ‘list’. They support a wide range of lists and are adding new ones constantly. I now know exactly how many films I’ve seen in the IMDb Top 250, but also the amount of Best Movie Oscars winning movies. I can also add movies I haven’t seen yet to a Watchlist (although this becomes one gigantic list if you just add everything you haven’t seen). Also in the future they will be bringing out support for your own created lists, which is really missing at the moment.

iCheckMovies-1

The great thing I find though is that you can add friends and get a comparison of which movies you’ve both seen. I can get 4 different lists: movies we’ve both seen, movies neither of us has seen, movies only my friend has seen and movies only I have seen. It’s great! I’ve already discovered a couple of movies that Cristiano has seen, which I can watch by myself while here in the Netherlands (likewise he now knows which movies he should watch while I’m away).

And you can see what both your progress is. In the below image you can my and Cristiano’s progress; I’m green, he’s brown. Basically he’s beating me in most that is shown below, except for Romance and All-Time Worldwide Box Office. Yeah, I’m a sucker for the big blockbustery movies and I don’t think it’s a surprise that I’ve done ‘well’ in that category.

iCheckMovies-2

So far I really love this site and I can see myself using it more in the future. There are a couple of things I’d like to see, like list-specific comparisons with friends (I still can’t see a list of the movies from the IMDb Top 250 that neither me or Cristiano has seen yet) and maybe multiple watchlists. I know the creators have said they’re working on a 2.0 version, so I’m really curious to see what the new stuff will be!

If you want to add me as a friend on iCheckMovies, here’s my profile.

Interesting links for April 9th through April 12th:

  • Vintage reproduction clothing (Pin-up, burlesque & rockabilly) – The ultimate shopping list! – Great list of shops that sell vintage clothing (dresses, lingerie, swimsuits).
  • The Many Faces Of… Alan Rickman – Brilliant. This is only the first part in a new series ("exploring a new actor, actress, director or movie on a monthly basis"), so keep an eye on future ones.
  • Top 10 Fantastic Fountains – I've always loved fountains (another feature of my future mansion will be a huge dragon fountain in the backyard). My favourite is the Fountain of the Four Rivers in Rome, featuring the 4 major rivers at the time (Nile, Danube, Ganges and Plate). That one isn't included in this list, but all 10 are pretty amazing.
  • The Ultimate List of Twitter Software for Mac (50+ Apps) – Good list of clients for Twitter. I'm currently using Nambu, but still not completely satisfied with it. I think the main thing I want from a Twitter client is to a) easily see how many unread tweets I have (which most clients don't really do) and b) see threaded conversations of replies and direct messages.
  • By Zeus! The Version of Clash of The Titans You Didn’t See – If you saw my review last week of Clash of the Titans, you know how much I didn't like it. Most of my problems were with the story and I hadn't realized it had gone through so many recuts and reshoots. I wish we could have seen the original cut; it would have worked much better I think.
